I was diagnosed with breast cancer more than three years ago in December 2011. After undergoing treatment for almost a year, I went back to work at the end of 2012. Two months after that I was told by my doctor of the possibility of contracting uterus cancer. After some tests, I was advised to remove my reproductive system! Almost exactly a year after my lumpectomy, in December 2012, I underwent a hysterectomy.
Those were significant events in my life. The cancer episode changed how I perceived life. As a cancer survivor once said,”I look at my cancer journey as a gift. It made me slow down and realize the important things in life and taught me to not sweat the small stuff.”
Now I live my life in its truest sense. I reflected on my past life and learned from my mistakes. The present is the most important time for me now. As much as my health permits, I now indulge myself in activities that make me happy. I travel to see the world, I catch up with old friends and make new friends. Very importantly I love to invest my time into sports and exercising.
I was introduced to Curves about a year ago by a friend. I was looking for a fitness centre for women then. Unlike before, I now make time to exercise consistently at Curves. Each week I become better with the equipment and my body grows stronger. More importantly, working out at Curves makes me happy and healthy.
Curves has inspired me to lead a healthy lifestyle by consistently exercising. Thank you Curves!
